These pro-grade cigar box guitars are handcrafted exclusively by our team in Flagstaff, Arizona. It features a unique variable setup option, giving you two completely different tuning setups to choose from. (see video below.)

We use high-quality components, good tuning gears, a great sounding pickup, and a rock maple neck constructed with a laminated maple fretboard for added stability. We always spend extra time professionally setting the action on every single one with a hand-cut bone nut and an ebony bridge. The BluesBox is the most versatile CBG around. BluesB◘x- the variable electric cigar box guitar

The BluesBox is a professional-grade cigar box instrument with an electric pickup that also offers an innovative open tuning feature. Made for the stage or recording, or simply for your personal enjoyment! All of them include our unique and variable setup feature with the alternate notches for the different string setups. We designed the BluesBox to be versatile & variable with two stain choices and different box choices per availability. But the best part is the special multi-tuning setup feature, making this thing totally unique. You can switch between two different setup styles and tuning options. This makes it great for alternate tunings, slide playing, blues, and many other option abound! Click the tab above to watch the tuning demo video.

The standard tuning is like the highest pitched 4 strings of a guitar, (from high to low) E, B, G, D. You can move the strings over to the alternate slots at the bridge and nut, and then re-tune to play it with the double-course setup. We recommend starting with a double-D dulcimer tuning when trying it out. Every BluesBox guitar is made with a solid maple neck, and comes stock with a great sounding single-coil lipstick tube pickup. They sound awesome plugged in, a new tool for recording or playing live. Acoustically they mic up well in a studio environment to get a cool old-timey sound.

FAQs

What strings should I use?

The BBG comes standard with the top four strings from a standard 12 gauge set. Using plain steel for the 1st & 2nd strings, and nickel wound for the 4th & 3rd.

Does it come with a case?

No. But you can get a proper fitting gigbag through us. Just add it to your order.

How do I learn different tunings?
